The Church of the Annunciation Marble Arch

worship/Crucifer and acolytes in procession_sm

Worship is the greatest activity of which we are capable. The word ‘worship’ comes from the same root as the word ‘worthy’. God is great. God is the source of life and love. So we respond by offering our best in praise and thanksgiving for all that we have received from God.

For Christians, the resurrection of Jesus Christ on the first day of the week means that Sunday is the principle day on which we worship. By starting the week in worshipping God we pray that all the other aspects of our lives will be infused with divine grace and power.
