The development of the Sunday School has been one of the significant features of the Annunciation in the last few years. There are now around 100 children most Sundays.
The parents who give their energy, time and considerable skills to creating a learning structure and suitable environment for the benefit of the children deserve both gratitude and admiration.
The Annunciation is leading the way in giving children an experience of church that has well-grounded content and provides the early scaffolding for their spiritual lives. ‘Come before the Lord with words’ said the Prophet Hosea. Our children are soaking up the grammar of salvation.
With so many children and stretched resources it is necessary to have some ground rules.
Please arrive before mass begins, register your child as present and ensure that they wear the colour-coded name badge. If you are early and the choir is rehearsing please be as quiet as possible.
Take note of what the Sunday School lesson is for the day. It appears at the beginning of the service sheet. The lesson plan for the year is on the Sunday School page of the website.
When you go downstairs please do not disrupt the way that the room is set up.
Once Sunday School is underway either assist with the classes or return upstairs.
Please respect the tradition of the worship and contribute to the special atmosphere of this holy place.
