History of Deaf Community in WW1

Friday 21 June, 6pm: Discover the History of the Deaf Community during WWI A BSL event for the Deaf Community and friends. Learn about the lives and sacrifices of the deaf community during WWI in the United Kingdom with the historian Peter Brown.There is also an opportunity to view an exhibition discovering the history of the Church of the Annunciation's two WWI memorials and tracing the lives of people who worked in the church and whose lives were affected by the War.Doors open at 6pm with the event commencing at 6.30pm. Delicious food and refreshments included.

The event is part of the Church's ‘Sharing our Future’ project and has been made possible by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. It is free for all to attend but please register to help us manage the numbers and prepare the space, as well as plan catering for everyone.
