A warm welcome
Whether you are coming to worship, visiting the building, exploring faith, attending an event or simply looking for a quiet place to pause, you are very welcome at the Annunciation.
You do not need to have been to church before. You are welcome to join in as much or as little as feels right, to sit quietly, to light a candle, to listen, to pray or simply to enjoy the space.
Coming to a service
The Annunciation worships in the Anglican tradition, with services centred on prayer, scripture, sacrament and music. Sunday worship is the main weekly gathering of the parish community.
Services may include hymns, readings, prayers, a sermon and the celebration of the Eucharist. If you are unsure what to do, you can simply follow those around you or ask someone for guidance. There is no expectation that visitors will know the service beforehand.
Music and atmosphere
The church is known for its beautiful liturgy, music and architecture. The scale and stillness of the building make it a striking place to worship, listen and reflect, particularly amid the busyness of central London.
Families and children
Children and families are welcome. The parish has a long relationship with families in the local community and runs Sunday School as part of its regular life.
Visiting the building
Visitors are welcome to come into the church when it is open, whether for prayer, reflection, heritage interest or a moment of quiet. The building contains important architectural features, historic furnishings, vestments and memorials.
