Sunday School is an important part of life at The Annunciation, offering children a safe, engaging and enjoyable environment in which to explore the Christian faith.
Sessions take place during the main Sunday Mass, enabling children to learn and worship in ways that are appropriate to their age and stage of development.
The programme welcomes children of all backgrounds and seeks to help them:
- Discover stories from the Bible.
- Learn about Jesus and the Christian faith.
- Explore Christian values through discussion, prayer, music and creative activities.
- Build friendships within the church community.
- Develop confidence in worship and participation in church life.
Children are typically divided into age-appropriate groups, with activities tailored to different stages of development. Sessions include Bible teaching, crafts, music, storytelling and interactive discussion. Older children are encouraged to engage more deeply with scripture and faith through discussion-based learning.
The Sunday School is led by a dedicated team of volunteers and parish staff, supported by the parish’s Children and Families ministry.

The parish is grateful for the support of the St Giles and St George Charities, whose funding helps provide a part-time Children and Families Worker and supports the development of bespoke learning opportunities for older children.
